A longstanding Toowoomba architecture and interior design company has been placed in liquidation.

Cor Cordis partner Matthew Joiner has been appointed liquidator of Arenkay Designs, which has been in business since 1998.

A notice on the company’s website said the company was no longer in business.

“We would like to thank the support of our local community since we began in 1998,” the notice said.

“Unfortunately, we have had to close down the business due to economic reasons. We wish our clients and consultants all the very best.”

A report on the company’s activities compiled by director Emma Satora and lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission laid out the business’s finances.

The report said $145,000 was owed to the Australian Taxation Office, at least $85,000 was owed to employees in the form of leave allowances and pay, and some super payments remained outstanding.

The report said $17,685 was owed to the company from clients and businesses.

A list of the company’s assets dated March 3, 2016, and attached to the report showed a total value of $124,000.

Mr Joiner is in the process of compiling a statutory report on the business’s liquidation.
