An emergency declaration has been cancelled after a truck carrying gas bottles rolled in rural Queensland in the early hours of the morning.
The truck rolled over on the Warrego Highway just after 2am at Blacksoil, near Ipswich, closing the highway in both directions between Brisbane Valley Highway and Pine Mountain Road.
The emergency declaration was made around 2am after the gas bottles began leaking and was revoked just after 9.30am.
The highway reopened 20 minutes later but motorists were warned to expect delays as there was still heavy traffic congestion.
People close to the exclusion zone, including in Blacksoil, Brassall and Pine Mountain, were told to stay indoors and close doors and windows as a precaution.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said on Wednesday morning that crews were still at the scene of the spill and working to recover the gas bottles and contain leaking gas.
