A heater sold at Bunnings is being urgently recalled over concerns it could pose a serious safety risk.

Customers who bought a white CLICK Electric Panel Heater with wheels are being asked to immediately unplug and return the product.

Concerns relate to the supply cord which is inadequately anchored to the appliance and if pulled could detach or become loose.

The faulty cord creates a risk of electrocution or fire, causing significant concern for the safety of users.

Affected model numbers were CPN1500 (1500 Watt) and CPN2500 (2400 Watt) with a batch code of 01/22.

The units were sold nationally in Bunnings stores between 1 Mar 2022 and 12 July 2022.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the product and unplug it from the power point and return the product to any Bunnings store for a full refund,” a statement said.

Last week, another heater sold at Bunnings was also recalled for similar reasons.

An Australian-wide recall of the Mill electrical convection panel heater 2000W was made due to an issue with its supply cord.

The model numbers concerned in that recall were AU SG2000LED and AU SG2000LED BK.

At the time, Bunnings merchandise director Jen Tucker explained the retail giant had conducted additional third party accredited testing of the units, which found some units did not meet the cord anchorage performance standard.

“This is clearly an unexpected outcome given that the original third party accredited testing undertaken by the suppliers, and our final random inspections of stock, indicated that both heaters met the applicable safety and performance requirements,” she said.

“Due to this inconsistency in the cord anchorage testing results, we are supporting the supplier with a recall of the heaters and have withdrawn them from sale.
