Man arrested over alleged sexual assault of woman he was doing gardening for

A man has been arrested and charged over the alleged rape and indecent assault of a woman he was doing gardening for.

A man has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he was doing gardening for, South Australian police have said.

Detectives arrested the man, 72, on July 1 following an investigation into the alleged assaults in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Police allege over the past six months, the man sexually assaulted a woman known to him while he was providing gardening services at her property.

He has since been charged with four counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault.

The man was remanded in custody following a brief appearance at Elizabeth Magistrates Court on July 4 but was later granted home detention bail.

He will return to court on October 24.

A South Australia Police spokesman said investigations were continuing and detectives were appealing for anyone with information to ring Crime Stoppers.
