New images of a vehicle police suspect may have been involved in the suspected murder of Rene Latimore have been released by Queensland Police who are calling on the public to help identity the occupants.
The 31-year-old mother was last seen at an address on Schirmer Rd at about 9am on August 9 but wasn’t reported missing from the Koumala area until August 18.
Her decomposed body was found more than 10 days later in a makeshift grave in bushland on a remote cattle property in Ilbilbie near Koumala, south of Mackay.
She had been staying at the address with her father, stepmother and 14-year-old son.
The new images released on Monday depict a light-coloured 4WD, believed to be a Toyota LandCruiser, and is the same vehicle in previously publicised images.
Just last week police released images from CCTV footage of a car leaving the Ilbilbie property and driving along Schirmer Rd on the evening of August 9.
The victim’s sister Katie Marchetti told reporters in September that Ms Latimore was an easygoing person and nothing was too big a problem for her to worry about.
She pleaded with members of the public to come forward with information related to her sister’s death.
“She was a very caring mother. She loved her son very much and they had a very close relationship. They really were best friends,” Ms Marchetti said.
“What's happened to her is going to affect him for the rest of his life.
“We're doing the best we can do, better than I thought, but the worst is yet to come.
“We don't know anything yet. I suspect when we know what happened to her, things will really hit home.”
Anyone with information about the vehicle or Ms Latimore’s death is urged to contact police online or call 131 444.
