Donald Trump Jr, known for hunting leopards and rare sheep, has been accused of gunning down an endangered duck in Italy.
The US President’s son has been reported to Italian police by Green politician Andrea Zanoni, who claimed Mr Trump Jr, 47, shot and killed a ruddy shelduck on a hunting trip in the Venice lagoon in December. Known for its brown-orange plumage, the duck is protected in Europe.
Ms Zanoni’s party reported the alleged incident to the Italian parliament after the appearance of a video by lifestyle journal Field Ethos, which was founded by Mr Trump Jr and focuses on outdoors travel, particularly hunting trips.
“We’re relics – old-school adventurers who make no apologies for who we are,” the site says.
The video, shared by la Repubblica, shows Mr Trump Jr patting the body of an orange bird, saying: “This is actually a rather uncommon duck for the area, I am not even sure what it is in English, but an incredible shoot.”
Ms Zanoni said Mr Trump Jr would also have been breaking the law as only residents are allowed to hunt in Italy.
Mr Trump Jr has been previously criticised for posing with hunting trophies, including a leopard. He was also photographed holding a knife in one hand and an elephant tail in the other.
