Johnny Depp will break his silence after the acrimonious libel trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard in the form of a record on which he sings: “I think you’ve said enough for one motherf***ing night.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean star has recorded an album with Jeff Beck, the former Yardbirds guitarist, called 18, which will be released on Friday. It features two songs written by Depp that offer an insight into his state of mind.

On one of the songs, Sad Motherf***in’ Parade, Depp, 59, sings: “You’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch / And I think you’ve said enough for one motherf***ing night.” In another line, he growls: “If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand.”

Depp surprised fans of Beck, 78, by joining the veteran rocker on his UK tour dates in May and June, including in Birmingham, Newcastle and at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Depp and Beck named their album for the age they say they feel when they play music. The rest of the tracks are covers, including new versions of Caroline, No by Brian Wilson and Venus in Furs by the Velvet Underground.

It is not Depp’s first foray into music. He was one of the founder members of Hollywood Vampires, with singer Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, and played guitar on Oasis’s Fade In-Out.

Following his acrimonious divorce from Heard, 36, Depp lost a UK court case over a Sun article in which he was called a “wife beater”. He then sued the actress in the US over a 2018 piece she wrote for The Washington Post describing herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. After a six-week trial, a jury in Virginia awarded him more than $15 million in damages.

The actor was accused of physical abuse and sexual assault, among other things.

Despite his victory in court, Depp’s film career has not yet recovered and in a Sunday Times interview last year he said he was being boycotted by Hollywood. His most recent movie, Minamata, was released this year with little fanfare.
