Footage has emerged of a smiling, albeit thin Princess of Wales out shopping, putting paid to wild conspiracy theories on social media.
A shopper filmed Catherine, 42, and Prince William at the Windsor farm shop where the couple had gone to pick up some goodies, a short distance away from their home at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate on Sunday afternoon.
Catherine appeared comfortable and relaxed, chatting with her husband as they carried a small bag of items through the carpark on the short video clip, which has been published by The Sun newspaper. There was no sign of the couple’s three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.
Having undergone major abdominal surgery in mid January, Catherine, appeared thinner than usual, wearing black leggings and a casual black sweater, her long hair pushed behind her ears.
William wore a baseball cap, jeans and blue jacket. The couple appeared to be accompanied by two casually dressed protective officers.

Nelson Silva, a member of the public who took the video of Catherine and William at the farm shop on Sunday, said he first spotted the couple in the bread aisle.
He told The Sun: “I noticed a couple choosing loaves of bread and the woman turned her face and I felt like I had seen the face before … then William turned back and I thought hold on I know this person. I said to the staff ‘I think its them’ as I paid.”
Silva said that the couple had “chemistry” and “were super relaxed,” walking around the store.
“Kate looked happy and relaxed. They look happy just to be able to go to a shop and mingle. Kate looked relieved like it was a success going to a shop. It felt natural,” he said.
In addition to their grocery excursion, The Sun reports that Kate and William were earlier spotted watching their children “take part in sports.”
Originally it was announced that Catherine would recuperate until Easter, but that timeline appears to have been pushed back by several weeks with sources at the Palace saying the intent was for the Princess to resume royal duties after the Easter school holidays, which will be in mid April.
However there is also a suggestion that Catherine may attend the Royals’ Easter Sunday service if she feels up to it.
The sudden appearance of the couple out in public has helped calm social media intrigue about the health of Catherine, the source of her illness and the explosion of conspiracy theories after she had released a manipulated Mother’s Day photograph.
Last week Catherine issued an extremely rare apology twelve hours after the biggest photo agencies in the world issued a rare “kill notice” to recall the supplied Royal picture amid concerns it had been heavily altered.
She said: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”. Friends had suggested Catherine had been miserable about the controversy she had caused.
Aides were then keen to stress that only minor adjustments had been made to the “amateur family picture”.
Kate’s last official appearance was on Christmas Day, when she attended service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, England, wearing head-to-toe royal blue. She walked to church with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
