Donald Trump has encouraged Republican donors to send money to his political action committee, rather than directly to the RNC.

In an email blast sent to his supporters, days after his lawyers demanded that the Republican Party organisers stop fundraising using his name and image, the Former President said donations issued directly to the RNC run the risk of aiding Republicans In Name Only (RINOs).

“No more money for RINOS,” the statement read.

“They do nothing but hurt the Republican Party and our great voting base – they will never lead us to greatness.”

Then, he called on his supporters to send the money to him instead.

“Send your donation to Save America PAC and DonaldJTrump.com. We will bring it all back stronger than ever before!” he said.

Mr Trump raised $255.4 million in the eight weeks after last year’s election, which he lost to Joe Biden.
