Baby girl for Princess Beatrice
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are celebrating the arrival of a daughter.
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are celebrating the arrival of a daughter, as yet unnamed.
Buckingham Palace announced the birth of the baby, born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, at 23.42pm on Saturday, weighing 3.2kg.
The girl, the 11th in line to the throne, is the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild.
Prince Andrew is believed to have travelled to London to see his grandchild, but risks being served with legal papers that he has avoided in the New York civil matter brought by Australian resident Virginia Giuffre.
Prince Andrew and former wife Sarah Ferguson are already grandparents after the February birth of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
A palace spokesperson said Beatrice, 33, and Eduardo,38, were “delighted” with the safe arrival of their daughter.
The statement said: “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”
Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s son, affectionately known as Wolfie, was best man and page boy at the wedding of his father and Beatrice in July last year.
