Meghan Markle is back with a renamed commercial venture, and As Ever, she can’t resist a dig at the Royal Family.

I know, I know. As ever, I’m sorry. Meghan Markle is back in the news. This time its to whinge about how over the past few years she hasn’t been able to share with you her true loves: cooking and gardening, and of course making jam.

What with being a duchess and mum of two and humanitarian and philanthropist and, as ever, being so very retiring about it all, Meghan has finally found the time to unveil a new, old venture.

So, without mentioning the royals – that family across the Atlantic that she left five years ago – she says she is now able to unleash her latest venture, flogging homewares and foodstuffs under a new carefully curated brand: “As Ever”.

Out goes the fancy font and home made jam of American Riviera Orchard, and in comes the swirly calligraphy of As Ever, and a butt of “as if, whatever” jokes in Britain.

There is no mention of the trademark difficulties of her original concept, nor that of possible future problems, for, as ever, there is an American clothing brand of 12 years standing with the same name.

“So I thought about it and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022 and this is the moment,” Meghan says, nodding furiously. “And it’s called As Ever.”

It comes with a new logo, a stylised palm tree with two hummingbirds, and her website shows a picture has been plonked on a backdrop showing someone that could be the Duchess holding hands with a young child, who may or may not be Princess Lilibet romping across the grass.

Meghan looks makeup free and has hair pulled back as she confides on social media: “I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating” helpfully telling her millions of followers “As Ever essentially means ‘as it’s always been’.”

At the very beginning of the clip, a feline friend showed such perfect timing to jump down from a garden wall in the background and, as ever, there will be naysayers suggesting someone was in the background pushing it over.

“The cat’s out of the bag,” Meghan said excitedly.

She says Netflix, which is bankrolling her new show “With Love, Meghan” came on board “not just as my partner in the show but as my partner in the business, which was huge.”

The 43 year old continually fingered a red enamel heart shaped necklace, designed by her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen with 15 per cent of its $US3200 ($5510) price going to the Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles.

Meghan said “This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”

This may be, as ever, ….(insert your own description here).
