TOWNEW T1S review: The bin for tech-loving neat-freaks
This ‘smart’ rubbish bin does all the dirty work at the touch of a button. What will you do with all the time on your hands now?
WHAT IS IT? Great news for tech-loving neat-freaks! It’s a “smart” rubbish bin.
HOW IS IT SMART? It has an infra-red sensor that detects your approach and lifts the lid – and when the 15.5-litre unit is full, a mechanism automatically cinches and heat-seals the bag at the top.
SO YOUR HANDS STAY CLEAN WHEN YOU REMOVE IT? NICE. Yeah. But that’s not all: a fan in the bin’s base then kicks in, sucking a fresh bag from a cassette of 25 refills in the lid and perfectly installing it in the bin – taking another job off your hands.
THAT’S GOING TO SAVE ME, WHAT, 30 SECONDS EVERY WEEK? I know, right! Between this and your robot vacuum cleaner, your video doorbell, Google Assistant to turn the lights on and off and Alexa to play your music, you won’t know what to do with all the time on your hands.
IDUNNO, I PREFER MY OLD-FASHIONED, LAVISHLY STAINED “DUMB” BIN WITH THE SWING-LID. Frankly, I agree: it’s cheap, does the job, and can’t possibly break down. Also, is it just me or does the TOWNEW T1S look like a toilet?
