Stihl BR 800 C-E Magnum: Road Test
This amazingly powerful backpack leaf-blower can shoot air at 385km/h. What could possibly go wrong?
WHAT IS IT? What she really wants for Mother’s Day: an insanely powerful
leaf-blower that’ll make short work of autumn clear-ups!
YOU’VE GOT TO BE JOKING. Well, why should blokes have all the fun when it comes to showing nature who’s boss? You wear this leaf-blower – powered by an 80cc, four-stroke petrol engine – like a backpack (it weighs 12kg), and take aim with the telescopic tube. It’s capable of blowing air at more than 385km/h.
CRIKEY. Yes. It’s the most powerful leaf blower in Stihl’s lineup. All the controls – including a one-touch stop button, should things get out of hand – are on the handle. A stern disclaimer on Stihl’s website says “Intended use: professional”. LOL.
WHY IS IT CALLED THE MAGNUM?I think it might be a nod to Dirty Harry (google it, kids). You know, “This thing could blow your head clean off...”
AND THERE I WAS THINKING OF ANOTHER MOVIE REFERENCE. I know, right. Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!
