Soundcore Sleep A20: Road Test

It’s a set of earbuds that's specially designed for night-time use by light sleepers. So how do they work?

WHAT IS IT? “The saviour of light sleepers,” according to Soundcore. It’s a set of earbuds designed especially for bedtime.

AHH, IT’S FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE WITH A SNORER. Yes, it’s for them. But it’s also for people in a noisy urban environment, or who just like to fall asleep to relaxing sounds.

I’M A SIDE-SLEEPER. WILL THESE EARBUDS POKE ME IN THE HEAD ALL NIGHT? No, they’re very slim-profile, and the soft silicone bits that sit in your ear canal are so well designed you’ll hardly feel them. They don’t fall out, either.

WHAT CAN YOU LISTEN TO? You can connect the earbuds to your phone via Bluetooth, and curate a library of soothing audio on the Soundcore app (which also acts as a sleep tracker). But you don’t have to do this; the earbuds can also store loops of sounds that’ll play until you fall asleep.

WHAT’S THE BATTERY LIKE? You’ll get 80 hours – 10 nights of sleep – if they’re stored in the charging case.

WILL THEY MASK THE SOUND OF MY ALARM IN THE MORNING? Don’t worry – you can set an alarm in the Soundcore app.
