IT'S a sign that things have gone seriously awry at some fashion magazines when they trumpet their use of a plus-size model - and then digitally trim her down a bit.
Robyn Lawley, a former Sydneysider turned international model of the moment, is a size 16 beauty.
She's been getting work in the mainstream fashion press but says she hardly recognises her own body in some of the photographs that are published.
"I have fans who ask why I'm not plus size any more when I am, who wonder why I gain and lose weight when I don't ... " she says of the extreme ways photographs are manipulated to lengthen the body, trim the thighs or tuck the tummy.
Lawley says she's been the same size for the past four years, yet in some of her photos she looks positively slender.
Does Lawley really need this digital reshaping? Have a look at the photographs and decide for yourself.
