Segway Ninebot Gokart Pro Lamborghini Edition: Road Test
It’s your chance to own a Lamborghini for under $3000. But there’s one tiny catch...
WHAT IS IT? Your chance to own a Lamborghini for under three grand!
WHAT’S THE CATCH? It’s actually an electric go-kart – a design collaboration between the supercar firm and Segway, the purveyor of “electric mobility solutions” (otherwise known as scooters).
I’M NO LONGER INTERESTED. Well, admittedly it can’t offer the nutty thrills of a real Lambo – top speed is 40kmh, and maximum acceleration renders 1.02G, which is only slightly more than the
G-forces you pull while sitting in a chair – but what if I tell you it has an “Engine clamor simulation system”?
I’M ALL EARS. It’s four speakers, which create fake engine noises for a “supercar-like auditory experience”.
SO IT GOES VROOM-VROOM. Exactly. It also has a bucket racing seat, a rear spoiler, and a digital speed display. The 432Wh battery provides a range of 24km.
ANYTHING ELSE? “It is strictly forbidden to be used on a public road such as a highway,” says Segway. Who are they, the bloody Fun Police?
