Road Test: The Sunbeam Maestro 2 toaster
IT’S a toaster for people who are sticklers for detail.
What is it?
A toaster for people who are sticklers for detail.
Go on…
You can program to the second how long you want your toast done for; an LCD display on the toaster then performs a countdown until it’s ready.
The LCD sounds a bit OTT.
It is really. Like, if you glance at it and there’s 12 seconds left, what else are you going to do?
Any useful design features?
Extra-wide bread slots; a removable crumb-tray; and a “quick check” feature to see how the toast is browning without interrupting the cycle.
One button says simply “Crumpet”. What does it do?
It produces extra heat from the centre elements, so the top of your crumpet cooks more than the bottom. Note to sticklers: one’s crumpet must be correctly aligned in the slot!
