Road Test: Prinker temporary tattoo

Great news for anyone who wants to ink their body but baulks at a real tattoo: the Prinker creates personalised, temporary tatts.

Instantaneous: the Prinker device prints directly on to your skin

What is it? Great news for anyone who wants a tattoo but baulks at A) the needles; B) the scary vibe in tatt parlours; and C) you know, the whole idea of being stuck with a butterfly on your arse for the rest of your life. It’s a device for creating temporary tatts in the comfort of your own home!

How does it work? First, sync your phone to the Prinker App, where you can find thousands of designs – or create your own. Send the design to the Prinker device (pictured), apply a special skin primer, roll the device over your skin and hey presto! The tatt is applied, as if by magic.

How long will it last? The ink – made from “certified cosmetic ingredients”, no less – lasts up to three days. It’s waterproof but makeup remover will take it off.

Verdict: “Show off your personality in a non-permanent way!” the people at Prinker say. You’ll thank them for it the next morning, guaranteed.
