What is a ‘wellbeing chair’ and why is it $11k?

This chair, which looks like it’d be at home on Donald Trump’s private jet, uses AI to detect your stress levels and delivers a customised full-body massage.

The uLove 3 chair retails for $11,380.

WHAT IS IT? An $11,000 “wellbeing chair”.

I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS. WHAT IS A WELLBEING CHAIR? AND 11K, WTF? 1) It’s a chair that uses AI to detect your stress levels, then delivers a customised full-body massage, accompanied by back-warming and surround-sound music. And 2) It’s designed by Italian powerhouse Pininfarina, and that name doesn’t come cheap.

IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF DONALD TRUMP’S PRIVATE JET. Ghastly, isn’t it! What were they thinking?

IS IT COMFY? Hell yeah. Biosensors in the armrests measure your heart rate and breathing – then the customised massage begins, kneading your shoulders, warming and stroking your back and buttocks, and squeezing your hands, calves and feet.

NICE. Yes. It feels like “two masseuses massaging your body at once”, the firm says. (That sounds like the sort of thing Trump might treat himself to, come to think of it.)

VERDICT: The uLove 3 is about “keeping stress at bay”, the firm says. You know, all the little worries of life... like, How the hell am I going to pay off this $11,000 chair?
