Remote-controlled snake: any takers?

This remote-controlled snake is possibly the most evil toy ever invented. Fun, though.

What is it?

Possibly the most evil toy ever invented.

Why? It’s a remote-controlled snake. Australia is full of very scary real snakes. Put those together and what have you got?

Potential for a whole heap of fun! Well, it’s true, one person’s fright is often another person’s fun. We just sent it slithering past the desk of fashion editor Glynis, and her shriek hit a note six octaves above middle C. Oh, how we laughed.

So it looks like a real snake? Its movement – directed by a small remote control – is astonishingly lifelike. Shape-wise, it’s short (40cm) and squat, with a broad head. Like a death adder, in other words. It even has a little flickering tongue.

Nice touch. Yes, even colleagues who are hyperventilating on the floor have to admit that, indeed, that is a nice touch.
