Panasonic MultiShape: Road Test

It’s not cheap, but Panasonic’s new “modular personal care system” for men may just be the only grooming product you’ll ever need.

WHAT IS IT? A “modular personal care system” for men.

SOUNDS GREAT! I’VE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS, THOUGH. It’s a cordless electric groomer, to which you can attach a range of different heads for “head-to-toe trimming, shaving and tidying”.

CRIKEY, DO SOME BLOKES SHAVE THEIR TOES? You wouldn’t believe the things some Millennials shave, honestly.

IT’S QUITE EXPENSIVE. Yes, and that $299 only buys you the base system – the rechargeable handle (its Li-ion battery provides 70 minutes of operation) and the hair/body trimmer head. But it feels hefty and well-made; the trimmer has “nano-sharpened” Japanese steel blades.

WHAT OTHER ATTACHMENTS CAN YOU BUY? A nose and ear trimmer ($89), a foil shaver head ($109) and a toothbrush ($109), among other things. It’s “the last grooming device you’ll ever need”, Panasonic says.

VERDICT: Hirsute gentlemen, rejoice! This device means you will no longer look like a monkey when you’re naked. (Disclaimer: you will look like a shaved monkey.)
