Micro Luggage II: Road Test

It looks like an ordinary travel bag for the plane. But give it a few twists, and hey presto!

What is it?

A real-life Transformer. It looks like an ordinary piece of hand-luggage – but if you pull this tag, yank here and extend that, ta-daaaa! It turns into a scooter.

Who’s it for? Frequent flyers with a fear of walking. With the wheels and handlebar folded away, it’ll fit in an overhead compartment. It has a 26-litre capacity and weighs 5kg.

Sweet ride? Maddeningly, we couldn’t get the wheels down until a Micro Scooters rep came to sort out the glitch. After that, the office was transformed into a skate park. Great fun.

Food for thought: As you glide past the other schmucks on the long walk to Gate 67, everyone – everyone – will stare. They’ll either be thinking, “There goes a man who’s ahead of the curve” or “What a PLONKER.” Could you live with that?
