MY favourite Monday morning task is to sift through the letters from readers.

 I am especially delighted by notes that start with the words: "I have never written to a magazine but felt moved to write ... "  Or letters from readers sharing their personal stories and anecdotes.

Christine Jackman's story last month about life-changing moments prompted some moving responses, one of which we have printed this week.

The others we have kept aside to include in possible future stories, including a letter from Peter of Western Australia who was shot at point-blank range at his front door by his daughter's former partner.
