A hand-cranked churn for making butter? It’s the future, right here, right now.

What is it?

A vision of the future, my friend. You’re looking at a hand-cranked churn for turning cream into butter.

That’s not a vision of the future. That’s a vision of buxom dairymaids on three-legged stools. Well, exactly. That old-school bucolic vibe is very now. By harking back to the 19th century, Kilner is cleverly tapping into the zeitgeist.

I’m confused. This is old technology, right? Yes, but hipsters, foodies and faddists of every description are sure to fall for its retro charm. I mean, look at it. The wooden handles; the chunky glass jar; the geared cogs. Delightful.

How does it work? Simply add cream and crank mindlessly until it magically separates into butter and buttermilk after about 10 minutes. Then hit Instagram! #dudewheresmycow
