Eume Barret massaging backpack: Road Test

It’s touted as the world’s first built-in massaging backpack. So how does the Eume Barret work?

WHAT IS IT? Great news for anyone who likes a little back rub while on the go. It’s the “world’s first built-in massaging backpack”!

OOOH, THAT SOUNDS NICE. Yes. It has four vibrating massage units built into the back panel – two at the top for your shoulders, and two at the bottom for your lower back. Simply plug a portable power bank (not included) into the backpack, and click the button to start the good vibrations. You’ll be walking around with a smile on your face, guaranteed.

I WORRY THAT PEOPLE WILL THINK I’M COMMUTING INTO WORK WITH A BAG FULL OF SEX TOYS. I have no idea what you mean. But with its 29-litre capacity – divided into compartments inside (including one for a laptop), and with side pockets for a water bottle and umbrella – it’s very practical.

ANYTHING ELSE? It’s designed by a groovy Indian firm, with “gender neutral” styling, and made of water resistant nylon. It’s available in other sizes, too

About $300, available online
