Sport is littered with rags-to-riches stories but if ever a sportsperson deserved reward, recognition and success, it's Jason.
I won't spoil Brent Read's cover story by giving away too much and I'll acknowledge the great sacrifices many families make for their sons and daughters to get ahead.
But I can't think of too many people who would do what Jason's mother and sisters did for him.
There's little doubt they will be cheering loudest next month when Jason makes his long-awaited trip home for his first tournament in this country as a professional.
