OUR mailbox was brimming with responses to Richard Guilliatt's cover story about cancer patients who shun conventional treatment in favour of natural therapies.

Many responses were from doctors and nurses, and cancer patients themselves, and their sentiment was near universal: that while natural remedies may have a place alongside medical treatment, they should not be a stand-alone option for people who want the best chance to live.

Whatever your personal view, it's clear that this is an issue of great interest to many people.
