Editor's letter: A snapshot of our country
I KNOW, from the stack of letters we receive each week, that there are many animal lovers in this country.
I KNOW, from the stack of letters we receive each week, that there are many animal lovers in this country.
I'm still receiving letters of support for activist Lyn White, who appeared in Ten Questions over a month ago.
And amid the praise for our story on Macquarie Island, some readers expressed concern for the dogs pictured huddled up in the snow. So I know, I just know, that the rodeo photo in Heart of the Nation this week will raise some hackles. I just want to say this: the column provides a snapshot of our country and its people. Whether it's naked blokes in a country pub (readers loved this one), or girls covered in tattoos (yes, we had letters about that too), we don't want to censor this column.
The best photography is raw and honest, and we celebrate that. I don't want to censor your opinions either, so send in your letters and I'll do my best to publish them.
