Coke-flavoured Oreos: Road Test
The two brands have “teamed up as besties” for a limited time. But does the world really need an Oreo biscuit that tastes of Coke?
WHAT IS IT? An unusual mash-up between two of the world’s greatest health foods: behold, it’s a packet of Oreo biscuits that taste like Coca-Cola!
EWW, THAT SOUNDS REVOLTING. Well, you sound like you’ve made your mind up without even tasting them. You should be more open-minded about such things.
SO THEY’RE NICE THEN? No, they’re horrible. I only tasted them so that you don’t have to. They look just like a regular Oreo, but they smell and taste just like Coke. Weird. “It’s like Oreos have been hijacked,” said my 12-year-old son, a trusted advisor on all things biscuit. And to compound the confusion, the two brands have also released a Coke Zero that tastes of Oreos.
WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT? According to the marketing guff, it’s a “celebration of friendship” – they’ve “teamed up as besties” for a limited time only.
ANYTHING ELSE? Yes, a hot tip: if you’re in the supermarket looking for something that’s both weird and good, grab a slab of Lindt’s newish Salty Liquorice chocolate. It’s awesome, people!
