CocoDrill: Road Test

It’s a handy tool for opening up a coconut. What could possibly go wrong?

What is it?

A neat way to open up a coconut, and/or your femoral artery if you’re careless. It’s a coconut hole punch.

Looks more like a broken walking stick. Yes, an unfortunate style fail, given that coconuts are the snack du jour for urban hipsters, paleo bleaters and girls in activewear.

Any alternatives? You could use a machete (very stylish), an electric drill (bit weird), or smash your coconut on the ground and lap up the spilt juice like a cat (not stylish at all).

Verdict: The CocoDrill really comes into its own on a summer picnic. Picture it: everyone’s parched, so you casually punch five-cent-sized holes in a few coconuts. “Now, if you pass me some straws we can sip Nature’s cool, refreshing nectar. What do you mean, YOU FORGOT THE STRAWS?”
