WHAT IS IT? Well, let’s be clear from the outset. “The BlendJet 2 is more than a blender – it’s a way of life,” say the folk at the Californian firm that designed it.

EH? What they mean is that this cordless device – 23cm tall, weighing 0.6kg – is portable. “Imagine the freedom of being able to go anywhere and blend your favourite smoothies,” BlendJet says. “It’s easy and convenient to use at home, at work, outdoors, at the gym, in the car...”

MAKING SMOOTHIES IN YOUR CAR? THAT DOESN’T SOUND LIKE A WAY OF LIFE, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU’VE LOST YOUR MARBLES. But we all live busy lives, right? This powerful, one-button device makes short work of blitzing fruit and veg. You get about 15 blends on a full charge;it recharges in an hour via a USB. Nice design touches include measurements on the side of the 450ml jar, and a Lock function.

ANYTHING ELSE? Yes, as well as kale, berries and bananas, be sure to pack limes and tequila too: BlendJet says it’s also great for making margaritas at home. Now that’s a way of life we can all aspire to!
