WARNINGS about synthetic drugs, or "legal highs", sold over the internet and in stores around the country have bubbled away for many months but it took the death of a Sydney schoolboy to focus attention on the issue.

Synthetic drugs have been linked to at least three deaths in NSW, one in SA and four in Queensland, including two teenagers. This is not just a boutique clubbing drug and there are no easy ways to combat the problem. Expect the prohibition versus regulation debate to heat up. Finally, we've lopped a couple of centimetres off the size of the magazine. As all media look to make savings we think it's best to make minor changes that have no impact on our content or our journalism.
