Within the Shoalhaven region of NSW, just over two-and-a-half hours drive from Sydney, sits Kangaroo Valley. Teeming with rolling farmland, waterfalls and rainforest, as well as the winding Kangaroo River which intersects the landscape, it’s a welcome getaway destination for those looking to escape the bustle of city live.

Just five minutes from Kangaroo Valley village sits Saddle Ridge manor, comprising five bedrooms and six bathrooms on 42 acres of land. The plywood-clad cabin includes the essentials – a two-burner stove, microwave and outdoor gas barbecue near an abundant herb garden – in a minimalist, designer shell. Looks can be deceiving, though; Almost every wall is a cupboard, filled with concealed supplies like a head torch and games. Climb up to the mezzanine level where you’ll find a cosy king-size mattress, while the ground floor consists of a kitchen, shower, and king single daybed. In a nearby structure, you’ll find the bathroom hidden in a mirrored cube-like building. Settle into the deep tub for ultimate relaxation in the bushland.
