It was like Glastonbury for Boomers outside Buckingham Palace over the weekend as the Queen's Jubilee celebrations kicked on into the third day.

Party at the Palace was a concert event headlined by Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart and Diana Ross - believed to be a request from the monarch. Ross closed the show with her first UK performance in 15-years.

While the Queen herself wasn't enjoying the party in her honour due those ongoing "mobility issues", the 96-year-old who has held down her job for 70-years kicked back with Paddington Bear and a marmalade sandwich.

Harry and Meghan were no shows while the Cambridges sat front row and sang their blue blood fuelled hearts.

Meanwhile back home, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has officially renamed Aspen Island in Canberra (the place where that pretty bell tower called the Carillon lives) to Queen Elizabeth II Island.

He also paid tribute to QEII's brand of feminism, noting that during the past 184 years, “the throne has been held by women for 133 of them. There have been just two women, Queen Victoria for 63 years and Queen Elizabeth, the first monarch to reign for seven decades," Albo said.

"The Queen has been a rare constant, an enduring, inspiring … presence of calm, decency and strength... Unlike her forebears, Princess Elizabeth did not choose a new name for herself as monarch. There was no question that she would retain the name that she had for all of her life. Already she was giving a sign of the stability and continuity she would provide, and indeed the continuity that royal women have provided,"
