The former North Melbourne star was gambling at the Crown casino in Perth when a zip-lock bag filled with white powder dropped from his pocket onto one of the gaming room tables.
Carey, who is adamant the substance was not illegal, has reportedly been banned from Crown casinos for two years over the incident, and was stood down from his commentary role on Seven and Triple M. WA Police are investigating the incident.
The troubled sportsman made a name for himself on the field and in cross-network commentary roles, but his personal life has been marred with controversy.
