Viewers watched over 341.2 million hours of the first season of the Tim Burton-directed show in the first week, which was released on November 23. Stranger Things 4 previously held the title at 33m hours.
The current all-time record holder is South Korea’s Squid Game with 571.8M hours viewed in its first week on Netflix.
Wednesday notched a Top 10 place in all 93 countries that Netflix tracks, and sits at No.1 in 83 of them. According to Netflix, the show has been viewed by more than 50M households.
As it stands, Stranger Things 4 holds the title for the most-watched Netflix English-language series in its first 28 days on the platform, with 1.35 billion hours viewed. Only time will tell if Wednesday's supernatural powers are potent enough to dethrone it.
