It’s the biggest weekend of year for junior rugby in NSW and for the young guns at Orange there was no question it was definitely the coldest.

Young rugby players, their families, supporters and organises woke to a blanket of snow on their fields in Orange over the weekend with numerous gamesplayed as it snowed.

The top under 13s players from across the state battled through the tournament despite the bitter sub zero real feel conditions and even seemed to enjoy it with a snowman or two spotted around the field.

The conditions in the country town were in stark contrast to Sydney where under 16s and under 18 girls and boys teams played in predominantly sunny conditions before late rain on Monday.

Just under 5000 rugby players from under 13s to under 18’s competed at numerous city and regional ground with every age group decided on Monday afternoon.
