Harry and Meghan a hit at London performance of Hamilton

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have attended a West End performance of the hit musical Hamilton to raise money for a charity that works with children affected by HIV in southern Africa.
As well as seeing the show, newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met the cast and crew on the stage of London’s Victoria Palace Theatre.
At the end of the show on Wednesday night, Harry treated the audience by singing a few bars from You’ll Be Back.
“You say…” the 33-year-old sang to the crowd before laughing and cutting himself off. The irony is that his ancestor, King George III, sings this part in the play.
Harry went on to thank the show’s cast and crew and the audience for attending in support of Sentebale, for which they raised “a huge amount of money”.
He closed with praise for the actors, noting “I don’t know how you guys do it every night, over and over again” and “that was spectacular”.
The Sun royal reporter Emily Andrews described the theatre’s energy as “unreal.”
Meghan wore an $820 black tuxedo minidress by Judith & Charles for the event.
Hamilton is an unconventional take on the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the US, blending hip-hop and rap, rhythm and blues, and ballads.
The London production is the show’s first foray outside the US after successful runs in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles as well as Broadway in New York.
Harry married Hollywood actress Meghan in May at a royal wedding that included a gospel choir and other nods to her African-American heritage.
Fans hoping to relive their May nuptials will from October be able to see their wedding outfits up close at the ceremony’s venue, Windsor Castle.
Queen Mary’s 1932 diamond and platinum bandeau tiara, lent to Meghan by the Queen, will be on public display for the first time.
The duchess’s Givenchy wedding dress, created by British designer Clare Waight Keller, will be one of several outfits on display at A Royal Wedding: The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex.
Fashion lovers and royal enthusiasts alike will be able to see details of the silk gown, its train and boat neckline. The intricate 5m-long veil, on which flowers of the 53 Commonwealth countries are embroidered along with wintersweet and a California poppy, will also be on display.
A copy of Harry’s Savile Row-tailored uniform will feature at the exhibition, which will begin at wedding site Windsor Castle before making its way up to Holyrood Palace in Scotland.
The specially commissioned frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals was made by Dege & Skinner and paired with a pair of trousers made of blue and black wool barathea.
