Scott Miller and Ken Catchpole's son Mark Catchpole arrested over pill press
FORMER Olympic swimmer Scott Miller and Mark Catchpole, son of ex-Wallaby great Ken Catchpole, have been charged with drug offences.
FORMER Olympic swimmer Scott Miller and Mark Catchpole, son of ex-Wallaby great Ken Catchpole, have been charged with drug and weapons offences.
Miller, 33 and Mark Catchpole, 40, were arrested yesterday afternoon at their respective homes in Dee Why and Seaforth, on Sydney's northern beaches.
Miller was charged with two counts of possessing a restricted substance and one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
Police allegedly found capsicum spray and steroids at Miller's home during yesterday's raid.
The former Olympic silver and bronze medallist was granted bail and will appear in Manly Local Court on May 7.
Mark Catchpole, whose father Ken is a former Wallabies captain who played 27 Tests for Australia, was charged with 11 drug and firearm charges, including possessing a pill press, and possession of an unlicensed and unregistered firearm, a .32 calibre revolver.
He was also allegedly found to be in possession of ammunition for the gun.
Police also allegedly found $224,000 in cash at Mark Catchpole's home and he was charged with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Mark Catchpole did not apply for bail in Manly Local Court this afternoon and will appear in court again on Tuesday.
Outside court, Mark Catchpole's lawyer Ian Rolfe said his client "was in good spirits".
