Former Liberal prime ministers and arch rivals Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull should campaign on polling booths together at next year’s election, Nationals deputy leader Bridget McKenzie has suggested. Senator McKenzie said she “absolutely” wanted Mr Turnbull campaigning for the Coalition and publicly backing the Morrison government to win when the nation headed to the polls in 2019.
