In the space of a few years in the 1970s, Don Dunstan separated from his first wife and had at least four passionate affairs. All while he was South Australian premier. The day after Dunstan and his estranged wife sold their home, he began an affair almost immediately with Judith Pugh, the partner of one of Australia’s best portrait artists.
