Trump bullish on TPP

Donald Trump has ordered his senior economic and trade advisers to examine the possibility of the United States re-entering the 11 nation Trans Pacific Partnership. The surprise move, which comes just over a year after the president withdrew from the TPP, would if enacted dramatically recast trade across the Asia Pacific and act as a powerful symbolic boost for global free trade.

$1bn cricket deal to stump Nine

Cricket Australia will receive more than $1 billion over six years after selling its domestic media rights to Foxtel and a free-to-air network, with Nine tipped to lose the sport for the first time in four decades.

Police search for ex-GG’s wife

A huge police search is underway in Melbourne after the wife of former Governor-General Peter Hollingworth went missing last night. Kathleen Ann Hollingworth, 81, was last seen outside her home in Malvern at about 9.30pm last night, according to Victoria police.

Pole vaulter Kurtis Marschall last night launched himself into the national consciousness as Australia’s next athletics star by beating former world champion Shawn Barber to win the Commonwealth Games gold medal.
