Another Shorten flip

Bill Shorten is preparing for another policy backflip, this time a retreat on his proposed 2 per cent cap on health insurance premium increases.

PM opens lead

Malcolm Turnbull has opened up the widest margin over Bill Shorten in more than two years, according to our latest exclusive Newspoll. Critics of Mr Shorten will claim that he is entering the danger zone, writes Simon Benson.

Trump’s Putin twist

The twist in Donald Trump’s meeting today in Helsinki with Vladimir Putin came just as he arrived at Windsor Castle to meet the Queen, writes Cameron Stewart. At that very moment across the Atlantic in Washington a ­nervous-looking Deputy ­Attorney-General Rod Rosenstein announced that 12 Russians were being indicted for hacking Democrat emails to tilt the 2016 US election in favour of Mr Trump.
