Tyrrell’s mother charged with assaulting man at bus stop

The biological mother of missing boy William Tyrrell has been charged with two domestic violence offences after allegedly hitting a man she is in a relationship with at a bus stop.

The biological mother of missing boy William Tyrrell has been charged with two domestic violence offences after allegedly hitting a man she is in a relationship with at a bus stop.

The 34-year-old has been charged by police with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and police have also applied for a restraining order.

The Australian understands it will be alleged she hit a man with whom she is in a domestic relationship with at a bus stop on Friday.

William disappeared on September 12, 2014, while he was visiting his now-deceased foster grandmother on the NSW mid north coast.

He was last seen playing in a Spider-Man suit outside her home in Kendall, and is presumed deceased by police.

On Friday, an interim apprehended violence order was also taken out by police, preventing Ms Tyrrell from assaulting or threatening the man, as well as stalking, harassing or intimidating anyone with whom he is in a domestic relationship.

Ms Tyrrell is also prohibited from intentionally or recklessly destroying or damaging any property or harming an animal that belongs to or is in his possession.

A police spokeswoman told The Australian William’s mother was arrested following the incident in Sydney’s west.

“A 34-year-old woman has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and common assault (DV), following an incident at a bus station on Argyle St, Parramatta, on Friday September 30, 2022, involving a 32-year-old man known to her,” the spokeswoman said.

Following Ms Tyrrell’s arrest she was granted bail with the same conditions as the interim apprehended domestic violence order. William’s biological mother will appear before a magistrate at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
