Shannon Tubb’s job at an exclusive college is being reviewed as it emerged he sent photos to the woman who got similar images from Tim Paine.

An exclusive Adelaide boy’s college is reviewing the employment of Tim Paine’s brother-in-law Shannon Tubb after it emerged he had also sent graphic photographs of himself to the same woman who received similar images from Paine.

The SA Cricket Association – where Tubb heads the pathways program for talented junior players – is also assessing his future.

In a letter sent to parents yesterday, Prince Alfred College headmaster Bradley Fenner said Tubb passed all requisite police and employment checks prior to starting as the school’s First XI cricket coach in 2018.

While there had been no issues with him since joining PAC, Mr Fenner said the school would review his employment in light of the revelations.

We were advised (Sunday) by a journalist that certain allegations had come to light in relation to Shannon’s time working for Cricket Tasmania,” the letter to the PAC school community states.

“This was the first we had heard of these allegations. Shannon was appointed after appropriate reference checks and having received the required police clearances to work with young people. We have had no concerns about Shannon’s conduct and performance during his time with us.

“In the light of this news, we are reviewing Shannon’s position with us and will advise the school community about this in due course. As cricket has ended for this term, there is no coaching taking place at present.”

The revelations about Tubb have caused a degree of amazement in SA, especially at Prince Alfred College which has a long cricketing pedigree and counts the Chappell brothers among its alumni.

The SA Cricket Association is also reviewing its own dealings with Tubb, who moved to SA from Tasmania in 2018 to take up a role with the SACA before also becoming head coach at PAC.

In a statement SACA said that until Sunday it had no knowledge of “the historical and concerning allegations relating to Shannon Tubb during the time of his employment with Cricket Tasmania”.

The statement said Tubb – currently the head coach for the association’s Academy Pathways Program – was originally hired in 2018 as a talent co-ordinator.

“Since Mr Tubb commenced employment with SACA, there have been no concerns raised directly or indirectly with the organisation in relation to his conduct,” the statement read.

“However, as SACA takes all matters relating to the conduct of our people very seriously, we are engaging with Cricket Tasmania and other parties as part of our own investigations into the matter before making any further comment.”
