Russell Brand has been dumped from Australian wellness event Wanderlust Festival amid accusations the British entertainer sexual assault claims levelled against him.

The events are due to be held in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in February and the Wanderlust festival originally listed Brand to feature.

Chief executive officer of Wanderlust Australia Charlotte Hill confirmed to Nine News that Brand would not feature at the event.

“Due to circumstances that have recently come to light, Wanderlust and Russell Brand have agreed that Mr Brand will not be appearing at the Wanderlust Festival.”

The festival’s removal of Brand was followed by the deletion of promotion flyers and posts featuring the comedian who has been active in spirituality retreats and education.

Brand has been accused of sexual assault, abuse and predatory behaviour from four women which allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013.

Brand denies the allegations has not been charged with any criminal offences.

Comments by Brand’s ex-wife Katy Perry to Vogue also resurfaced this week with Perry describing the British comedian as “very controlling”.
