Liberal defector Craig Kelly’s former office manager Frank Zumbo has been charged with historical sexual assault offences, including allegations that he assaulted a teenager.

NSW Police confirmed that Mr Zumbo was arrested at Sutherland police station on Friday night, following an extensive investigation.

The 53-year-old former political staffer was charged with two counts of aggravated sexually touching another person, seven counts of aggravated indecent assault where the victim was under the authority of the offender, and nine counts of common assault.

The allegations come from three women aged 23, 26, and 27 in addition to a 16-year-old girl, over multiple incidents which took place in the workplace between 2014 and 2020.

Mr Zumbo is expected to front Parramatta Local Court today after he was refused bail.

Mr Kelly, who sensationally resigned from the Liberal Party and moved to the crossbench in February, has been under pressure over his employment of Mr Zumbo, who has denied wrongdoing.
