Welcome to live updates on Australia's battle with the Covid-19 pandemic.

A prison in Sydney's west has recorded more than 30 cases of Covid-19, with authorities scrambling to stop any further spread as the state's case numbers peak. Meanwhile, NSW recorded its highest number of Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday, reporting 1218 cases and six deaths.

Victoria will remain in lockdown after recording its highest spike in cases in a year, with 93 cases detected overnight.

Most local government areas (LGAs) in Sydney are at at least partial vaccination rates of more than 60 per cent, and 11 have hit 70 per cent at least partially vaccinated.
