Oran Park: Baby found dead in Sydney’s southwest
A six-month old baby boy has been found dead in a home in Sydney’s southwest, and a woman arrested at the scene.
A six-month old baby boy has been found dead at a home in the southwest Sydney suburb of Oran Park, and a woman arrested at the scene.
Emergency services responded to reports of concern for welfare at a house in Seaborn Avenue about 4.40pm on Thursday.
Officers from the Camden Police Area Command found the baby unconscious and unresponsive.
The infant was given CPR at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital, however, was unable to be revived.
A woman was arrested at the home, and taken to Camden Police Station where she will assist with inquiries, NSW Police have said.
Investigations are underway at the crime scene into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It is not yet known what caused the child’s death.
