Strike Force Zygon has formally identified the body discovered near Sydney Airport earlier this week as Zhuojun “Sally” Li of Greenacre.

Emergency services were called to the bushland in Sir Joseph Banks Park, Botany at about 7am on Monday after an early-morning jogger in the park was distracted by an odd smell and stumbled upon the body.

Upon arrival, officers found the body of a woman heavily decomposed and wrapped in plastic, making it difficult for police to identify the body or establish a timeline, according to Superintendent Danny Doherty.

Zhuojun “Sally” Li was reported missing to Parramatta Police Area Command earlier this month after her mother was unable to reach her.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for information to locate Zhuojun’s husband, Jai-Bao ‘Rex’ Chen, also aged 33, as they hold grave concerns for his welfare.

Jai-Bao is described as being of Asian appearance, about 165-170cm tall, of slim build with black hair and brown eyes.

As inquiries continue, police have also released CCTV of a silver Toyota Avensis that stopped on the northern side of Foreshore Rd in Botany during the early hours of Saturday, November 30.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information about the car or the driver to come forward.
